New month, new tutorial.

Now they I’ve worked my way through the Mark Kistler book it’s time to move on to different, more advanced tutorials.

For the foreseeable future I’ll be working on human anatomy and figure drawing. Before I can start trying to draw people I have to learn to understand the way people move and how to make poses look natural.

The first exercise is to observe and capture poses seen around me in real life. The drawings aren’t meant to be detailed. For now we are just looking at capturing the way people actually look in a natural setting. How their legs and arms position themselves, how they sit, slouch, recline, lean, everything! These are my observations from today. I’ll be filling up a good few more of these pages over the coming days.

These are as rough as they come. All drawn with my ”Mjolnir” 5.6mm pencil below. He’s a beast...!
