I’m nearing the end of “You can draw in 30 days” by Mark Kistler and it’s definitely been well worth working through. If you need something to help get your head around basic drawing skills and ideas then that’s your book. And your man as I believe he is America’s equivalent of a Tony Hart (for those of us of a certain age).
in anticipation of getting to the end of this book I’ve started mucking around with other things to try and get myself ready to hit the ground running with the next thing. Over the last few days I’ve been scribbling away at this with my mighty 5.6mm pencil (I’ve started to call it Mjolnir after Thor’s hammer as it is a beast and only to be used by the worthy!)

This was In between working on a few more exercises in the book.

But once I was finished with these I set about learning to draw faces in my wee sketch pad .
As you can see from this I’m just testing my ability. And getting some practice in with facial features which I’m really weak with.

Again though Looking at the face on the left compared to the one on the right you will agree there’s already an improvement between the two. Looking forward to continuing with this But still a few more exercises to come from the book so I’ll be making sure to complete that before I throw myself fully into people.
