Yesterday was fun...spent all night playing with my balls...!
I continued with the theme of building more complex things from simple shapes. Here are a few examples that I hadn't drawn prior to yesterdays blog:

As you can see I did a lot of doodling to get the shapes locked into my head.
Today I shifted from spheres to cubes. Easy peasy, eh?
Nope!
First off there are ways to draw cubes and similar shapes that I didn't know existed. I first had to unlearn what I thought I knew and relearn how to do it correctly.
Which is the point...so all good!
Here's me getting used to the new way of doing things and ultimately doing some doodles using what i'd learned:

I must say that all these exercises are getting me used to holding a pencil in my hand. Also having to draw things freehand without a rulers or a compass is making a huge difference to my confidence.
So, I drew a lot of boxes today - I wont bore you with every single one but once I got the hang of it and stepped it up - again it was a "wax on, wax off" thing - I was able to use the cubes to build slightly more complex objects.

I drew some boxes! With lids! and even added in some contents! (note the balls 😂)

The pedestal was an additional exercise I got some practice with, the idea of which is to introduce beginners in art to more complex shadows. This design can be stacked and twisted into a lot of forms to add complexity and is a really good way to learn. Below is an example of how this can be done and also an illustration in how previously learned and practiced shapes can be incorporated.
This is also my last drawing of the day.

I'm obsessed with balls! 🤣
